Looking at the UFC Welterweight Division

What is the most loaded division in the UFC at this moment in time? The Lightweight division certainly isn’t short of talent, but the Welterweight ranks suddenly seemed to have found a new lease of life, and for me equals the Lightweight division for depth.

Impressive wins by Darren Till and Colby Covington have put them maybe one win away from a shot at the Title, both could be potential new stars the UFC badly needs.

The winner of this weeks Title eliminator at UFC 217 between Wonderboy Thompson and Jorge Masvidal stay in the reckoning, but a Thompson win would give the UFC problems in matching him for a 3rd time with Woodley. The title might need to change hands before Thompson lands another tilt at UFC gold.

The winner of the December match up between former champion Robbie Lawler and Rafael Dos Anjos looks to be next in line for a shot at Woodley.

You can also throw in a returning Carlos Condit, and maybe even a certain Conor McGregor, might fancy a 3rd UFC belt around his waist.

GSP depending on how he does against Michael Bisping at UFC 217, might be another to add to the mix.

2018 could very well be the year of the Welterweights.
