New Beginnings – featuring Invicta FC fighters Pearl Gonzalez and DeAnna Bennett

In MMA, fighters will often look for a fresh start in other promotions to get their careers back on the right track. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two ferocious females looking for career resurgences in Invicta Fighting Championships.

A professional since February 2012 and representing 10th Planet San Diego, Pearl Gonzalez owns a 7-3 record in 10 career bouts consisting of four submissions, two decisions and one knockout. Gonzalez is a two-time UFC veteran. At XFC 22 Crossing the Line, she submitted Suzie Montero in the first round via armbar. Gonzalez also tapped out Courtney Casey-Sanchez via armbar in round three at XFC 26 Night of Champions 3. She defeated her next two opponents in Niki Duncan and Katie Anita Runyan. Then Gonzalez defeated Valeria Mejia via TKO in the first round at XFO 56 Outdoor War 11. At Hoosier Fight Club 28 she submitted Katie Casmir via armbar in the second round. Following a two-fight stint with the UFC in 2017, Gonzalez signed with Invicta Fighting Championships. In her Invicta FC debut at Invicta FC 28, she defeated fellow submission specialist Kali Robbins via unanimous decision. This tenacious Midwestern bulldog seems to be settling in quite nicely with Invicta FC’S strawweight division!

A professional since February 2012 and representing All Star MMA and Ricardo Almeida BJJ, DeAnna Bennett owns a 9-3-1 record in 12 career bouts consisting of five decisions, two knockouts two submissions and a draw. Bennett appeared on The Ultimate Fighter season 26 as a member of Team Alvarez. In her MMA debut, she defeated Andrea Miller via TKO in the first round. Then Bennett defeated TUF 18 winner Julianna Pena via unanimous decision. She submitted her next two opponents in Sharon Jacobson and Colleen Schneider. In her Invicta FC debut at Invicta FC 8, Bennett defeated Michelle Quid via TKO in the second round. She defeated Jennifer Maia via unanimous decision in her second Invicta FC appearance at Invicta FC 10. Next, Bennett defeated Norma Rueda Center via unanimous decision at Invicta FC 11. She defeated Finland’s Katja Kankaanpaa via unanimous decision at Invicta FC 14. In 2017, Bennett was chosen to be a part of The Ultimate Fighter season 26 and was the seventh female selection of Team Alvarez. In episode two she defeated Karine Gevorgyan via TKO in the first round to advance to the quarter-finals.  Bennett returned to Invicta FC to face Mexico’s Karina Rodriguez in the co-main event of Invicta FC 28 and defeated her via split decision. ”Vitamin D” has certainly energized Invicta FC’S flyweight division!
