UFC president Dana White says he and Conor McGregor will meet in Las Vegas in the near future, and he believes a fight between McGregor and lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov wil happen.
After UFC Liverpool the proposed meeting between White and McGregor didn’t happen and will now take place in Las Vegas.
“Conor and I are going to meet in Las Vegas,” White said. “I’m pretty confident [a lightweight title fight] is a fight that Conor wants, and I’m pretty confident that is a fight Khabib wants. So yeah, I could see that happening.”
White also reminded everyone that everything will also depend on what happens when McGregor is scheduled to appear in a New York courtroom as a result of his April 5 attack on a UFC fighter bus following UFC 223 media day in Brooklyn. McGregor is facing three counts of assault and one of criminal mischief for his actions.
White says he has not seen McGregor since the incident in Brooklyn and that he is not involved in his legal defense in any way.
