Leading up to his fight on July 28th at Staples Center Los Angeles, Mikey Garcia shared an update with MMAUK about front-running Dana White’s anticipated boxing promotion. White has been vocal about new business aspirations in boxing with a major interest in Mikey Garcia. Garcia (38-0) along with Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez are the only fighters in history to win titles at 126, 130, 135 and 140 pounds. He also has momentum building for super fights with Errol Spence jr and Vasyl Lomachenko so it’s no surprise Zuffa Promotions has scheduled meetings with Garcia, last in May.
Tuesday Mikey revealed that an invitation to UFC226 was extended with a meeting to follow. But Garcia and his team look to focus on the upcoming fight and getting another win before they make any decisions. Coach Robert Garcia spoke highly of Dana and the Zuffa plans of potential boxing/MMA fight nights. News of Zuffa Boxing Promotions and its headliner athletes could be released before the end of 2018.
