Fighters out hunting the Diaz brothers while the prey lay in the octagon

When it comes popularity in MMA, does most of the light shine on those who are inactive?

While credit ie “light” gets dimmed on those who are taking fights?

No credit to be taken away from the Diaz brothers, they are 2 of the best this sport has produced.

Every so often I hear a rumour or two about them headlining a upcoming event or someone wanting to head up the rankings calling them out.

And eventually getting a fight at the event, only to fight someone else who was active and fight ready.

Is this it now? Do the likes of Chuck Liddell, the Diaz brothers or even Urijah Faber, have to be called out before anyone is given a fight?

Over the past couple of years Tyrone Woodley, Clay Guida, Michael Bisping and recently Anthony Pettis have all called out one brother or the other. (Yes I know Bisping now retired but that wasn’t long ago either lol).

Only time will tell whether we’ll be graced by Nick or Nate’s presence again in the octagon but this I’m sure is not the way to get either brother back on the roster.

Back in December Nate was approached regarding this “I don’t need to fight nobody,”

Diaz recently told the “Outside The Box Podcast“. “I’ll fight anybody, but I don’t need to fight anybody.” credit MMA JUNKIE.

But Nick, on the other hand, has been strongly linked to a return of late, whether it be a cryptic message over Instagram or Dana Whites statement in an interview back in April,

“You have a lot of possibilities with the Diaz brothers. The rest of this year, nothing but great fights coming up so. hopefully we can make a few of those” credit TMZ SPORTS.

The callers could regret their actions if either return, will the callers regret their decision? Will we see the Diaz brothers back in the UFC? Only time will tell.

Whether it was morning, evening, noon or night I hope you’ve enjoyed this article.
