Off with a Bang featuring CES MMA fighters Matt Almy and Fabio Cherant

Through 52 events in their promotional history, CES MMA has been home to some truly memorable Eastern firecrackers. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two fire starters whose professional MMA journeys are on the upswing thanks to a ruthless mentality and trademark eastern fire.

Matt Almy – A professional since May 2013 and representing Apex MMA Academy, Matt Almy owns a 4-2 record in six career bouts as a professional comprised of three submissions and one knockout. Almy is currently 1-0 under the CES MMA banner. In his MMA debut at NEF Fight Night 7, he submitted Ernesto Ornelas via heel hook in the first round. Almy also tapped out Justin Rascon in round two via guillotine choke at RUF MMA Cage Rage on the River 8. Then he defeated Freddy Arteaga via TKO in the first round at Combate Americas Empire Rising. For his debut outing with CES MMA at CES MMA 49, Almy faced fellow submission specialist Richie Santiago and tapped him out in the first round via brabo choke to secure his third submission win as a professional. Six fights into his professional MMA journey has this ground specialist coming up aces!

Fabio Cherant – A professional since February 2018 and representing Team Sityodtong, Fabio Cherant holds a perfect 3-0 record with all three of those wins coming via submission. All of Cherant’s wins as a professional have come under the CES MMA banner with each ending in a finish. In his MMA debut at CES MMA 48, he submitted James Dysard in the first round via guillotine choke. Cherant also tapped out Marquis Allen in round one in his second appearance with CES MMA at CES MMA 50. For his third outing with CES MMA at CES MMA 51, he submitted Buck Pineau via rear naked choke in the first round to extend his perfect streak to three to begin his professional career. With a 100% finish rate, Cherant has certainly become an ace in the hole for CES MMA!
