The Arizona Firecracker featuring UFC fighter Bryan Barberena

The UFC will mark their long-awaited debut on ESPN with a loaded card in Arizona featuring multiple representatives of The MMA Lab. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet an Arizona firecracker looking to kick 2019 off in style at UFC On ESPN 1 on February 17. A professional since October 2009 and representing The MMA Lab under the guiding hand of head coach John Crouch, Bryan Barberena owns a 14-5 record in 19 career bouts as a professional comprised of 10 knockouts, two submissions and two decisions. Prior to making his debut with the UFC in 2014, Barberena competed with various promotions including King of the Cage.

In his MMA debut, he knocked out Dirk Thiedeman in the first round. Barberena also defeated his next two opponents via knockout in David Barnett and Dale Alvarez. Then at King of the Cage Mainstream, he defeated Garrett Olson via TKO in the second round. Barberena defeated his next two opponents in Vernon Harrison at Crowbar MMA Rumble at the Fair via TKO in round two and Dane Sayers via unanimous decision at Dakota FC 13 Coming Home respectively. At Dakota FC 16 Fall Brawl 2013, he defeated Marcos Marquez via TKO in the third round. Barberena tapped out Damien Hill in round three via rear naked choke. At King of the Cage Radar Lock, he defeated Eric Moon via TKO in the first round.

In his debut appearance with the UFC at UFC on Fox 13, Barberena defeated Joe Ellenberger via TKO in round three. At UFC on Fox 18, he tapped out Sage Northcutt in the second round via arm triangle choke. For his next UFC outing at UFC 198, he defeated Warlley Alves in his home nation of Brazil via unanimous decision. At UFN 108 Barberena defeated The Ultimate Fighter season 15 alum Joe Proctor via TKO in round one. He also defeated Jake Ellenberger via TKO in the first round at UFN 135 to earn his 10th knockout victory as a professional. At UFC On ESPN 1 on February 17, Barberena will face Vincente Luque in a welterweight showdown. You can catch this contest on ESPN. Good luck Bryan!
