When: Saturday May 4th, 2019

How can I watch the event and where is it taking place? Bellator Birmingham: Primus vs. Wilde is taking place at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. The Main card will air live on free-to-air Channel 5 at 10 p.m. Preliminary bouts will be available to watch exclusively on the Bellator app.

Who is headlining the event?

The event will be headlined by an exciting lightweight bout between former Bellator world champion Brent Primus (8-1) and Tim “The Experiment” Wilde (12-3).

American fighter Primus (8-1), who fights out of Eugene, Oregon, has a near-perfect record. Making his professional MMA debut in September 2010, Primus enjoyed an eight-fight undefeated streak, including six successive wins under Bellator and earning the world title with a win over current titleholder Michael Chandler. Primus is aiming to get back on track and rediscover the formidable skill which saw him make such an impressive start to his career.

Wilde (12-3) meanwhile, who fights out of Cannock, will make his Bellator debut on the night and will be looking to put on a show in front of an expectant Birmingham crowd. Wilde who joins Bellator MMA from Golden Ticket Fight Promotions, is currently enjoying a three-fight win streak and will be looking to make that four on the bounce when he steps into the Bellator cage for the first time. The former BAMMA and Cage Warriors veteran, known for his explosive striking style, has six knockout victories to his name during his career.

Who else is fighting on the card?

Joining Wilde on the card is hometown hero, Fabian Edwards (6-0). 25-year-old Edwards will be fighting in Birmingham for the first time since turning professional and another win against Portugal’s Falco “MC” Neto (11-9) in the co-main event of the evening will further cement his status as a rising contender in Bellator’s middleweight division.

Edwards, who trains at Team Renegade in Birmingham, made it two wins in two outings for the promotion at Bellator Newcastle: Pitbull vs. Scope in February this year, following a unanimous decision victory against veteran fighter Lee Chadwick. Edwards will put his undefeated professional record on the line when he makes his second appearance of 2019 at Bellator Birmingham as he looks to get the win in front of his home fans.

A host of local British talent are set to compete on the card including Saul Rogers, James Mulheron, Lee Chadwick and Dominique Wooding. Bellator Birmingham is expected to be a sell-out, with thousands of passionate fans set to create an electric atmosphere inside the Resorts World Arena. This night of spectacular MMA action is one not to be missed.
