Across the Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter Luke Shanks

In a sport with numerous twists and turns, success truly comes in Mixed Martial Arts until a full-fledged reboot happens. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a slayer of a Scot whose flaming knockout power in either hand could spell devastation and doom for the top flyweights in Europe and the Cage Warriors flyweight division as a whole.

A professional since November 2016 and representing Higher Level Martial Arts under the steady and skilful hand of head coach James Doolan, Luke Shanks owns a 6-1 record in seven career bouts as a professional comprised of three submissions, one knockout and two decisions. Shanks is currently 2-0 under the Cage Warriors banner and has gone on to earn a finish in four of his six professional victories. He has also competed with various promotions across the globe including Contenders, Budo FC and ACB.

In his MMA debut at Budo FC 17, Shanks submitted Gary Priestley via rear-naked choke in the third round.

He also tapped out Adam Bramhald in round one in his sole outing with ACB at ACB 70.

Shanks defeated Apostolos Geropoulos in the first round at Contenders 23.

For his debut outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 97, he faced Jason Jenkins and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision to score his first win under the Cage Warriors banner. In the main event of Almighty FC 12 Shanks defeated Coner Hingett via unanimous decision for his second decision victory as a professional.

In his second appearance with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 107 in Liverpool, he faced Pietro Menga and defeated him via TKO in round three to earn his second victory with the promotion. The victory also earned Shanks the first knockout win of his professional career.

Doom is on the horizon for foes that stand in the path of Shanks’s quest to be crowned king of the European flyweights!
