Across the Pond Profile: Legacy Fighting Alliance fighter Jerome Rivera

Career setbacks will often lead to even greater triumphs in the wild and sometimes wacky world that is mixed martial arts. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a razor-sharp rebel whose take no prisoners mindset and sharp bladed ground skills at 24 years old has the LFA flyweight division sweating bullets. A professional since March 2014 and representing Lutrell Yee MMA and Destroya MMA, Jerome Rivera owns a 9-2 record in 11 professional contests comprised of seven submissions and two decisions. Rivera has gone on to secure a finish in seven of the nine professional victories he has managed to earn thus far.

In his MMA debut at Triple-A MMA 5 Redemption at the Rock, he faced Levi Lucero and submitted him via rear-naked choke in the first round. Rivera also defeated his next three foes that included wins over Rudy Kennedy and Alejandro Diaz. He defeated Jesus Urbina at KOTC Thunder via unanimous decision. At Jackson-Wink fight night 1 Rivera tapped out Saul Elizondo in the second round via rear-naked choke. Then in his Legacy Fighting Alliance debut at LFA 10, he faced Zac Riley and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision to pick up his second decision victory as a professional along with his first win under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance. At Jackson’s MMA Series 27 Rivera faced Gene Perez and managed to tap him out in the first round via armbar.

For his fourth appearance with Legacy Fighting Alliance, he took on Kendrick Latchman in the co-main event of LFA 80 and submitted him via triangle choke in the second round. The win also secured Rivera the seventh submission victory of his professional career. He also picked up his second win with LFA in the process. With a keen eye for the finish getting into a chess match with Rivera is no question a recipe for mutually assured destruction!
