Across the Pond Profile: UFC fighter Peter Barrett

A true fighter can be discovered when the person channels their inner spirit of the beast when the black mask of setback fogs up the big picture. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a northeastern cannon of fire and fierceness looking to barrage the UFC with a five-star salvo and make opponents wave the white flag of truce. A professional mixed martial artist since June 2014 and representing Team Sityodtong, Peter Barrett owns an 11-3 professional record in 14 bouts comprised of seven knockouts, two submissions and two decisions, Barrett earned his contract from the UFC on week 10 during season three of DWTNCS in 2019. He has also fought for numerous MMA promotions in the northeastern United States including Cage Titans and CES MMA. Barrett has finished nine of his 11 victories as a pro thus far in his tenure as an MMA fighter.

In his MMA debut at Cage Titans 19, he faced Lionel Young and defeated him via TKO in round three. Barrett also defeated Louis Torres and Franklin Isabel. Then at Cage Titans 25, he submitted Steve McCabe in the first round. Barrett defeated his next three foes that included wins over Jeremy Davis and Keenan Raymond. At Cage Titans 32 he defeated Vince McGuiness via unanimous decision. Barrett tapped out Jay Ellis in the first round via rear-naked choke at Cage Titans 38. At Cage Titans 44 he defeated Zach DiSabatino via TKO in round one to pick up his seventh knockout win as a professional.

In week 10 of the third season of DWTNCS, Barrett took on South Korea’s Sang Hong Yoo and defeated him via unanimous decision to earn the second decision victory of his professional career along with a contract from the UFC. Setback won’t put a damper on the spark of this hot fire cannon’s thirst and for a barn burner inside the cage!
