Jo Jo Calderwood Taken To Hospital After Her UFC Fight

Calderwood had to be rushed to hospital when she collapsed after her first round defeat in Las Vegas to Jennifer Maia

Calderwood’s manager said that after the fight, she was getting checked in the medical room and fainted while sitting down. Calderwood’s coach John Wood caught her and she was laid down.

The Flyweight fighter was then stretchered and taken to a local hospital and her heart rate also dropped on the way. However, things seem to be in control at this point, with Joanne Calderwood’s heart rate stable now and the fighter herself is responsive.

UFC President Dana White first announced the news at the UFC Vegas 5 post-fight press conference.

Calderwood risked a future title shot with Valentina Shevchenko in order to take on Jennifer Maia in tonight’s UFC Vegas 5 co-main event.
