UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Aldana Predictions

Saturday night looks to be a good night of fights with a good main card and an equally good preliminary card.

The opening of the main card will see Dequan Townsend take on Serbia’s own Dusko Todorovic. Townsend has lost his last three fights and looks to capture his first UFC win when he steps inside the octagon Saturday night. His last fight was against Devin Clark where he dropped a decision. Todorovic is on a nine-fight win-streak and last appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series where he won a decision against Teddy Ash. That fight took place in August last year, so the time away might play against Todorovic.

I see Todorovic taking this one via decision.

The next fight on the card sees two bantamweights face off when Kyler Phillips takes on Cameron Else. This one could be promising. Else is making his UFC debut and looks to earn his seventh straight win. Phillips picked up a decision win against Gabriel Silva which earned him his first win in UFC. Both men have not fought since February before the pandemic hit.

This fight does not go the distance, but I think Else takes the win via TKO, first round.

Our next bout, which I believe could be a candidate for Fight of the Night, features ‘The Iron Lady’ Germaine De Randamie in her first fight back since her loss to Amanda Nunes. she takes on ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ Julianna Pena. De Randamie and Pena have not fought since 2019, Pena having the longest time out. Despite that, this fight will be entertaining. Both women have shown they can finish fights and I think that is what we will see Saturday night.

Germaine De Randamie secures a finish in the third round.

The co-main event gives us a heavyweight clash when Yorgan De Castro squares off against Carlos Felipe. both men will be looking to get back in the win column as they have lost their previous outings via decision; the losses being the first in their pro careers. Although they suffered losses via decision, I think we will see a KO in this one given that both are still to pick up a win in the UFC.

De Castro gets the KO in the second.

The main event will finally see Holly Holm face-off against Irene Aldana. The fight was scheduled for August 1st, but Aldana had to pull out due to testing positive for COVID-19. Both women are coming off victories and it’s possible that the winner of this fight could be next in line for the title shot. In their last five bouts, Holm is 3-2 and Aldana is 4-1.

This fight will be closely contested, but Aldana takes the victory via decision.

The prelims hold some exciting fights also.

Luigi Vendramini opens the card when he faces off against Jessin Ayari.

Casey Kenney takes on Heili Alateng where both men look to keep up their winning ways.

Loma Lookboonme returns to the cage to take on Jinh Yu Frey where both women will look to get the win after suffering losses in their previous bout.

Jordan Williams takes on ‘Russian Sniper’ Nassourdine Imavov. Imavov looks to continue his five-fight win-streak when he makes his UFC debut Saturday night. Williams is also looking to capture his first win in the UFC after winning his last outing on the Contender Series.

Charles ‘Air’ Jourdain takes on Joshua ‘Kuya’ Culibao. Both fighters are coming off losses, but I think this will be a good fight. Culibao is still to secure his first victory in the UFC.

Carlos Condit takes on ‘The Crusher’ in Court McGee. McGee is on a two-fight losing streak and last entered the cage in 2019. Most notable is Condit, who is 0-5 in his last five fights and hasn’t secured a win since 2015. Given that Condit has to win this one, and in impressive fashion to remain in the UFC, I don’t see this fight going the full fifteen minutes.
