Interview with Mick “The Huyton Hammer” Stanton ahead of his upcoming bout with Justin Moore at CW132

Mick “The Huyton Hammer” Stanton 8-6-0 is an English amateur Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Middleweight  Division. Representing ASW and Urban Kingz MMA. A professional competitor since 2016. He has competed for Shinobi MMA Fighting Championship, BAMMA, Figure 4 Promotions and Cage Warriors.

I appreciate you taking the time to speak to me again mick. I’d also like to congratulate you on your recent fight announcement for Double Trouble.

It’s been a long time coming but on December 11th you will take the walk to the warzone again in the iconic York Hall. It must be an amazing feeling to be back to where you’ve had so many action packed brawls?

“Yeah, I’m looking forward to getting back in and even better it’s now with a crowd as well.”

At CW132 you’ll take on Justin Moore, a powerful middleweight making his highly anticipated debut for Cage Warriors, what do you make of your opponent, have you had the opportunity to see him in action?

“Yes, I’m excited about fighting Justin and getting to show everyone my level. I didn’t know of Justin until I was matched with him, and watching his previous fights back I see massive holes in his game. I’m looking forward to taking him apart and getting a big finish.”

In regards to training, many warriors in the organisation have been anticipating a call up for the final card of the year. How has training been for you in recent weeks?

“Training has been fantastic last few months, I’ve been helping my teammate Lee Chadwick prepare for his Bellator fight so I’ve done a camp alongside him so I’m ready to go I’ve just got to sharpen up.”

Not many have been announced for the CW132 just yet. baring your inclusion, are there any matchups, announced or yet to be you’re particularly looking forward to on the night?

“I’m looking forward to seeing how Bonner gets on. When I win this fight I think I should be next in line for the title shot, I’m a bit disappointed they brought in a fighter to fight him for the title. I don’t think Bonner wants to fight me, he’s looking for every way out possible. It’s only a matter of time though, I will be champion.”

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to shout out to?

Big shout out to all my teammates at ASW & urban Kingz MMA. To the fans, get ready for a fast-paced fight like always. Let’s see if Justin can make it past the first round.”

With the inclusion of Mick Stanton, December 11th is shaping up to one hell of a card at York Hall. Keep a close eye out for further announcements, who knows who will be added next. One thing’s for certain, it’s not one to be missed. For tickets please follow the link below.
