Aljamain ‘The Funk Master’ Sterling has been forced to withdraw from his bantamweight bout with Raphael Assuncao at UFC Fight Night 102 in Albany, N.Y. due to undisclosed reasons. UFC are currently looking to replace Sterling with a U.S. based opponent to fight on short notice against Brazilian Assuncao on December 9th.
Sterling’s last fight was at UFC Fight Night 88 in May, losing a split decision to Bryan Caraway. Brazilian Assuncao who also lost his last fight, due to a unanimous decision loss to T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 200 in July.
