Under the leadership of head coach Paul Rimmer, Next Generation Liverpool has quickly earned a reputation for producing champions from Chris Fishgold to Paddy Pimblett. In Today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a dynamic up and comer hoping to follow in their footsteps. A professional since February 2016 and representing Next Generation Liverpool, Dylan McLoughlin owns a 3-0 record consisting of two knockouts and one submission.
In his MMA debut at ICE FC 11, Dylan defeated Harry Brereton via TKO in round three. Then at Full Contact Contender 16 he submitted Dan Good via rear naked choke in the first round. At Cage Warriors 78 in Liverpool, Dylan faced Frenchman Alexandre Roumette and defeated him via TKO in round one. Dylan will now face Ross Houston in a battle of unbeaten prospects at Cage Warriors 82 on April 1. Good luck Dylan!
Interview with Dylan-
What are your thoughts on your opponent Ross Houston?
I don’t know much about him as I could only find footage of his last fight. From what I do I know, he is on a similar run as me and has a similar build to me too. He looks like a well-rounded fighter as well, so it should make for a good fight.
You train with some top UK talent at your gym on a regular basis. How has this experience helped you in your training?
Next Generation Liverpool is the best gym in the UK. We have a solid squad of fighters and we are constantly learning from one another. We have an array of talents in our gym from amateurs right the way through to Cage Warriors champions. This helps me in training as I know that no matter what my opponent brings I know they’re not gonna present nothing I haven’t seen already. That’s why I’ll get my hand raised on the 1st as I always do.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I’m not really interesting haha, I’m just doing what I can to train hard and to get after that Cage Warriors gold!
