BAMMA today announce a main card fight for BAMMA Newcastle, a veteran’s hometown return and a former title challenger on the road back towards title contention.
MMA’s dark clown returns to Newcastle on the biggest stage as Colin ‘The Freakshow’ Fletcher faces the surging Frenchman Anthony ‘La Masse’ Dizy, who holds recent victories over Martin ‘50 Cal’ Stapleton and Tim Barnett’s team mate, Lawrence Fitzpatrick. Expect fireworks and the unusual, both in and out of the cage, as the Freakshow returns in full glory once more at the Metro Radio Arena in front of his home town crowd. However, Dizy will undoubtedly provide the very sternest of tests after steadily putting together an impressive win streak over solid competition, and test the dark clown to his very limits. This bout could have world title ramifications for the winner, so it’ll all be on the line as these two Lightweight monsters collide in Newcastle.
“After a tricky few years of personal issues and injuries, the Freakshow can finally say he is BACK! I’ve been to the depths of darkness on my journey and I’ve brought back some of the darkness to fuel my fire in this battle with the one they call La Masse. I’ll be bringing my bad medicine to my home support and if you think I’m leaving with anything less than a win, you are certainly mistaken. I am the remedy for Dizy spells as Anthony will be finding out on December 15th.. See you there heheheheheeeee” – Colin ‘The Freakshow’ Fletcher
“It’s just yet another English name to add to my hunting board” – Anthony ‘La Masse’ Dizy
After several years away from the sport, Curt ‘The War’ Warburton returns to the confines of the cage as he takes on Warren ‘Bodysnatcher’ Kee in a Welterweight battle. The former RDX Lightweight European Champion will return in front of his hometown for this bout against the wily veteran Warren ‘Bodysnatcher’ Kee. Kee himself is looking to get back into the win column, so will this be a glorious homecoming for Warburton or will Kee shut the party down early?
“It’s great to be back after 3 years, and to top it off I’ll be fighting in the North East with BAMMA on my birthday.
Best birthday present ever” – Curt ‘The War’ Warburton
‘Mr Bag & Tag’ Nathan Jones was considered to be controlling the title bout at BAMMA London against the now champion Alex ‘Da Kid’ Lohore until one mistake cost him the title. Not one to sit around and contemplate too much, Jones requested to get back into action at the first available opportunity and now faces BAMMA newcomer Adam Proctor. Proctor is one of UK MMA’s greatest up and coming talents, having amassed an impressive number of victories. With his eyes firmly on making a statement in BAMMA, Proctor aims to leapfrog Nathan’s place in the Welterweight division rankings and put on ice his chance at redemption against Lohore. This fight has everything to play for but the chance to lose everything too. It’s time to double down, buckle up and watch this fight unfold on December 15th.
“I am ready to get back in the mix. I am championship material. And I will show it! #FYB Winter Is Coming…” – ‘Mr Bag & Tag’ Nathan Jones
“I’m really looking forward to competing on one of the biggest shows in Europe and getting to show case my skills against a good opponent at the same time” – Adam Proctor
