UFC Fight Night, Austin, Texas (February 18) is taking shape as it is confirmed lightweight prospect and Team Alpha Male protégé Sage Northcutt (9 – 2) will clash with Thibault Gouti (12 – 3). The bout will take place at UFC Fight Night inside Frank Erwin Center.
Originally from Katy, Texas, Northcutt’s most recent victory was a turning point and his most impressive to date when systematically took apart Michael Quinones at UFC Fight Night 120. It was also his first fight as a member of Team Alpha Male in Sacramento where he is being tutored by UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber.
Gouti, 30, of France, has struggled in the UFC. He began his UFC career with three consecutive losses, all of which were finishes. He recorded his first Octagon win in September, with a first-round TKO over Andrew Holbrook.
With another performance like the last, Northcutt could see himself climb the Lightweight rankings and gain a more high profile fight.
Additionally, officials have confirmed a heavyweight fight between Derrick Lewis (18 – 5) and Marcin Tybura (16 – 3).
