Under the leadership of James Lake, On Top Promotions has become the leading home for amateur and professional MMA fighters in Scotland. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two Scottish stags looking to take another successful step forward in their rise within the professional ranks.

Brian Hyslop – A professional since May 2011 and representing DNFT, Brian Hyslop owns a 6-2 record in eight career bouts consisting of three decisions, two submissions and one knockout. Hyslop has competed for various promotions across Europe including BAMMA, Cage Warriors and Budo Fighting Championships. In his MMA debut at Sportfight Scotland 13, he defeated Darren Gilchrist via unanimous decision. Hyslop submitted Barry McGuigan in the second round via rear naked choke at On Top 2. Then at On Top 3, he defeated Shamsul Haque via TKO in the first round. In his lone appearance with BAMMA at BAMMA 8 Hyslop defeated Ian Malone via unanimous decision. He also defeated Declan Williams via unanimous decision at Vision FC 3 the uprising. At Budo Fighting Championships 5, Hyslop submitted John Spencer via guillotine choke in the first round. For his ninth professional bout and On Top debut at On Top Showdown on June 2 he will face Cheya Saleem in a flyweight contest. On Top Showdown will also mark Hyslop’s return to compete for the first time since 2014 after three and a half years away from the sport. Good luck Brian!

Aidan Stephen – A professional since May 2016 and representing The Jiu-Jitsu Misfits located at SBG Moray, Aidan Stephen owns a 3-1 record in four career bouts consisting of one submission, one decision and one knockout. Stephen has spent the majority of his professional career with On Top Promotions. He has also competed for Forza Fighting Championship. In his MMA debut at On Top Frontline, Stephen submitted Michael Putlak in the first round. Then he defeated Poland’s Dawid Kostecki via unanimous decision at On Top Face Off. At Forza Fighting Championship 7, Stephen defeated Andy Nunn via TKO in round one. Despite only having four professional bouts under his belt, Stephen has shown tremendous promise in his quest for European dominance!
