Europe is full to the brim with panthers ready to pounce on their prey. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two fearsome English panthers taking European MMA by storm.
Tom Mearns – A professional since September 2015 and representing BST Academy, Tom Mearns owns a 5-2 record in seven career professional bouts comprised of two knockouts, two submissions and one decision. Mearns has competed for Contenders and Almighty Fighting Championship. He has also fought for Cage Warriors and Bellator MMA. In his MMA debut at Contenders 12, Mearns defeated Dominic Dillon via TKO in the first round. He also defeated Victor Silva via TKO in round one at Contenders 13. Then at Contenders 16, Mearns submitted Tor Olav Hauge in the first round via arm triangle choke. He also tapped out Marco Thomas Bosca via rear naked choke in round one at Contenders 18. In his lone appearance with Almighty Fighting Championship at AFC 5, Mearns defeated Cage Warriors veteran Jordan Desborough via split decision. With an 80 percent finishing rate, opponents need to be careful what they wish for when they square off with this ferocious panther!
Lerone Murphy –A professional since May 2016 and representing All Powers Gym, Lerone Murphy owns a perfect 5-0 record comprised of four knockouts and one decision. Murphy has spent the bulk of his professional career with Full Contact Contender. He has also fought for Fightstar Championship and Tanko Fighting Championships. In his MMA debut at FCC 15, he defeated Martin Fouda via unanimous decision. Then at Tanko Fighting Championships 3 Murphy defeated Tyler Thomas via TKO in round one. For his second outing with Full Contact Contender at FCC 18, he defeated Jamie Lee via TKO in the first round. Murphy also defeated Nathan Thompson via TKO in round one at FCC 19. At Fightstar Championship 14 he defeated Terry Doyle via knockout in the first round to improve his unbeaten streak to five to begin his professional career. At 5-0 Murphy has come out with guns blazing to start his journey in the pro ranks!
