Bellator have announced another Grand Prix tournament, this time in the welterweight division, which will start later this year.

Bellator officials told the LA Times that September 29th will see the launch of the eight-man tournament at the SAP Centre in San Jose, California.

At this stage, the opening matchups have not been confirmed but four names already confirmed to take part are ex-champion Douglas Lima (29-7), Andrey Koreshkov (20-2) and British rivals Paul Daley (40-16-2) and Michael Page (13-0).

It’s expected current welterweight champion Rory MacDonald (20-4) will take part in the tournament next year but will be on the card on Sept 29th as he takes on middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi (44-6-2).

Also set for the event is the fourth matchup between former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson (37-13 MMA) and longtime rival Wanderlei Silva (35-13-1 MMA).
