On July 28, the UFC will once again grace Canadian soil with UFC On Fox 30. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two ferocious wolves who are hungry for a victory against vaunted opposition.
Devin Powell – A professional since April 2012 and representing Nostos MMA and Conditioning Facility, Devin Powell owns an 8-3 record in 11 career bouts as a professional comprised of three submissions, three decisions and two knockouts. Powell was brought into the UFC on episode one of season two of Dana White’s Looking for a Fight. In his MMA debut at CZ 41 Cage Rage at the Rock, he defeated Anthony Loycano via unanimous decision. Powell submitted Andy Robertson via triangle choke in the first round at Cage Titans 9 Live Free and Fight Hard. He defeated his next two opponents in Scott Jurgen and Johnathan Lemke. Then at CZ 57 Clash of the Titans, Powell defeated Jeff Anderson via unanimous decision. He defeated Jessie Erickson via TKO in the first round at NEF 22 All Roads Lead Here. For his lone outing with World Series of Fighting at WSOF 31, Powell defeated Tom Marcellino via split decision. In the headlining event of NEF Looking for a Fight he fought Johnathan Lemke for the second time and tapped him out via rear naked choke in round one in front of UFC president Dana White and secured a contract with the UFC in the process. Nina Ansaroff – A professional since September 2010 and representing American Top Team, Nina Ansaroff owns an 8-5 record in 13 career bouts as a professional comprised of four knockouts, two submissions and two decisions. In her MMA debut at Crowbar MMA Fall Brawl, she defeated Catia Vitoria via unanimous decision. Ansaroff defeated Jessica Doerner via TKO in round one. Then at Wild Bill’s Fight Night 51, she submitted Tyra Parker via armbar in the second round. Ansaroff defeated her next three opponents via knockout that included wins over Munnah Holland and Trisha Clark. At UFN 103, she submitted Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger in round three via rear naked choke. Ansaroff defeated TUF 20 alum Angela Hill via unanimous decision at UFN 120 to earn back to back UFC wins. At UFC On Fox 30 on July 28, she will head into enemy territory to face Canada’s Randa Markos in a women’s strawweight affair. Good luck Nina!
