Off the back of launching his latest EP ‘SAFE’, Grime don Saskilla has come back into view with these visuals for one of the EP’s highlight tracks ‘Truss Me’.
Produced by Blay Vision and featuring hotly tipped artist Ten Dixon, the track (which is released via Defenders Ent) is a true representation of Grime as we see the duo tell some home truths to less talented mc’s on a bass-heavy laid back grime production.
Interestingly, the video also stars former BAMMA welterweight champion Alex ‘Da Kid’ Lohore.
Released as we see Ten Dixon tearing up the radio and club sets whilst Saskilla aka ‘The Grime Minister’ has been outspoken in the media recently about the governments lack of response to the Grenfell tragedy – speaking to Huff Post, The Independent,
BBC Victoria Derbyshire show and other outlets. As well as being a big supporter of the #Grime4Grenfell campaign, he was also a key member of the #Grime4Corbyn campaign last year (driving the UK’s highest youth turn out to vote in history), playing benefits/live shows for both. He continues to speak out about social and youth-related issues including Love Music Hate Racism and has become more politically driven in his approach to his new music.
Since releasing the EP through Defenders Ent, it has been championed by the likes of Dj Target (exclusive interview on BBC 1xtra with Saskilla), various Spotify playlist additions (including being the face of Grime Shutdown playlist), an exclusive worldwide Premiere of ‘Righteous Dance’ on BBC Radio 1 by Toddla T and the EP launch party in conjunction with Nandos & Boxpark Shoreditch was sold out.
