Midwest Constrictor featuring DWTNCS season two alum Alex Gilpin

Throughout the first two seasons of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, there have been multiple highly touted prospects who have impressed the fans in spite of the fact they did not land a coveted contract with the UFC.

In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet an alum from the second season of the show whose unorthodox submission skills have him on the verge of striking it rich. A professional since January 2015 and representing Chosen Few Gym, Alex Gilpin holds a 12-1 record in 13 career bouts as a professional comprised of six submissions, three knockouts and three decisions.

Gilpin appeared on week eight of season two of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2018 and has also fought for ACB and Chosen Few Fighting Championships.

In his MMA debut at CFFC 4, he submitted Kendrick Terry via brabo choke in the first round. Gilpin defeated his next three opponents that saw wins over Pedro Velasco and Jonas Flok.

Then at CFFC 8, he tapped out Cody Garness in round one via guillotine choke. Gilpin defeated his next two opponents via TKO in Jose Pacheco and Morgan Sickinger.

At Chosen Few Fighting Championships 11, he submitted Nick Compton in round four. Gilpin also tapped out Brandon Apfel in the first round via anaconda choke at Chosen Few Fighting Championships 12.

He defeated Finland’s Joni Salovaara via unanimous decision at Cage 41.

In his only appearance for the Russian MMA promotion ACB at ACB 87, Gilpin submitted Russia’s Adrian Mamaev in the third round via guillotine choke

At DWTNCS 8 he tapped out Jr Coughran via brabo choke in round two to earn his sixth submission victory as a professional and also extended his win streak to seven in the process.

With an astounding 12-1 record and a bevvy of unique submissions to fall back on, there is not an ounce of doubt in my mind that this Midwest constrictor will end up hitting pay dirt sooner than later when bigger promotions like LFA start to call!
