Scottish MMA has undergone a rebirth with multiple scots making waves on the regional circuit. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to one of Cage Warriors top Scotsman looking to carry the crown for his nation at Cage Warriors 105 on May 31 and give the promotion the clarity it needs for a return to Scotland for the first time since Cage Warriors 53 in 2013. A professional since May 2016 and representing SBG Moray, Aidan Stephen owns a 6-1 record in seven career bouts as a professional comprised of three submissions, two decisions and one knockout. Prior to making his debut appearance with Cage Warriors in 2018, Stephen competed with various MMA promotions in his home nation of Scotland including On Top Promotions. He is currently 2-0 under the Cage Warriors banner. Out of his six victories as a professional Stephen has obtained a finish in four of them.
In his MMA debut at On Top Frontline, he submitted Michael Putlak via rear naked choke in the first round. Stephen defeated David Kostecki via unanimous decision at On Top Face Off. Then at Forza Fighting Championship 7, he defeated Andy Nunn in round one. For his final outing with On Top Promotions at On Top Future Stars Stephen tapped out Paul McCulloch in the second round via rear naked choke.
In his debut appearance with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 100, he faced submission specialist Kris Edwards in his home nation of Wales and tapped him out via kimura in the second round to secure his third submission win as a professional. For his second outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 102 in London Stephen faced Kingsley Crawford via unanimous decision to earn back to back victories with Cage Warriors. The win also earned him the second decision victory of his professional career. At Cage Warriors 105 on May 31, he will face rising star Steve Aimable in a clash between two of the featherweight division’s top contenders. Good luck Aidan!
