First names announced for CW108 in Cardiff

Tickets are now on sale for Cage Warriors return to Cardiff on October 12th, with a number of stellar Welsh names confirmed for the card which will be headlined by surging lightweight prospect Mason Jones.

Still undefeated at 7-0 in the Cage Warriors lightweight division, Mason ‘The Dragon’ Jones looks to be following in the footsteps of the previous Welsh Cage Warriors alumni who have risen to international UFC stardom – Brett Johns, Jack Marshman, Craig White and, most recently, former bantamweight champion Jack Shore.

Now, Jones has his first chance to bring home a main event win at the Viola Arena, a now-notorious venue for the sport of MMA in Wales which has hosted his last two fights against Donovan Desmae and Kacper Formela.

Speaking after his last fight, he said: “I’m here to show I’m the greatest in this division and that I can defeat anyone. I’m always looking for those finishes and to end in a bang. I’m looking to destroy everyone… I’m coming for my belt.”

“The crowd is insane… the noise, the support… Wales is my favourite place in the world to fight.”

On October 12th, Jones has the chance to move ever closer to his dream, when he’ll take the next step in his quest for the title. Can he join Shore in the wave of young Welsh talent reaching the world MMA spotlight?

Now on a 3-fight win streak, Aaron Khalid is another man with his eye on a Cage Warriors belt, but for him the goal is welterweight gold. He’s scheduled to fight former title challenger Alex Lohoré on June 29th in London, but after that will return to Cardiff on October 12th for a homecoming fight at the Viola Arena against a soon-to-be-announced opponent.

Also just announced is Cory McKenna, who has already picked up two stoppage wins this year to prove why she should be righty considered one of Europe’s most exciting women’s MMA stars. Her training partner Josh ‘Crazy Horse’ Reed, a Welsh fan favourite who narrowly lost out to the bantamweight title against the UFC’s Nathaniel Wood in 2017, has also made an impressive start to the year with two wins and will compete at CW108.

And that’s not all – Oban Elliott, the winner of Cage Warriors’ Lightweight Amateur Grand Prix tournament who has since made a perfect start to his pro career, will appear on the card alongside Welshmen Ben Ellis, Jordan Peake and Jack Tucker.

Fans can save 20% on CW108 with Cage Warriors’ Early Bird offers through THIS LINK, with tickets starting at just £28 for a limited time only.
