Cage Warriors announce ‘Unplugged 2’ at BT Studios in London on September 6th

Europe’s leading MMA promotion returns to BT Sport Studios for their second ‘Unplugged’ event, featuring an exciting card of emerging talent – and for a one-night, four-man bantamweight title tournament.

The event forms part of a double-header of MMA on BT Sport in the first weekend of September, with UFC 242 taking place the following day in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Casimir Knight, Cage Warriors CEO, commented “We are excited to be part of this. We like to do innovative things, like Unplugged. I want to thank BT Sport and UFC FightPass for making this happen.”

The only previous ‘Unplugged’ event in Cage Warriors history took place in 2016, and featured names such as Paddy Pimblett and Chris Fishgold, with both successfully retaining their world titles in close contests.

This time around, Cage Warriors promise another memorable card featuring a four-man bantamweight title tournament, which will conclude with a new champion crowned on the night.

Cage Warriors held two tournaments of this kind back in 2013 when Brett Johns and Stevie Ray took home the bantamweight and lightweight titles. Both champions were subsequently signed to the UFC. The title on the line on September 6th was formerly held by bantamweight champion Jack Shore, who became the 91st fighter to go from Cage Warriors to the UFC this year.

Cage Warriors Unplugged 2 will be invite-only, with no tickets being released on general sale to the public, and will be broadcast live on BT Sport 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
