Across the Pond Profile: Cage Warriors bantamweight champion Jack Cartwright

In the unplugged version of Cage Warriors, a star can go from a virtual unknown to wearing a golden strap around their waist by the end of the night. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a brutal bull whose foes have felt the sharp stab of his golden horns. A professional since February 2017 and representing SBG Manchester under the skilful watch of his head coach and fellow Cage Warriors veteran Matt Inman, Jack Cartwright owns an undefeated 7-0 record comprised of four submissions and three knockouts. Cartwright has managed to score a finish in all seven of his professional victories and is the current Cage Warriors bantamweight champion. He has also competed with Full Contact Contender, Tanko FC and Almighty FC.

In his MMA debut at Tanko Fighting Championship 3, he faced Kane Goldup and went on to defeat him via TKO in the first round. At Tanko FC 4 Cartwright defeated Alexis Giannakopoulos via submission in round one. Then in his lone appearance with Full Contact Contender at FCC 21 he faced Carl Burton and tapped him out in the first round via rear-naked choke. Cartwright also submitted Brazil’s Almir Jose Da Silva at UK Fighting Championships 9. For the main event of Almighty FC 13, he faced Damien Kieres and managed to submit him via brabo choke in the first round to earn his third submission win as a professional.

At Cage Warriors Unplugged 2, Cartwright faced former Cage Warriors bantamweight title challenger Scott Malone and managed to knock him out in round one. He defeated another ex title challenger in Mario Kovacevic in the final of the same event via knockout in the first round to claim the Cage Warriors bantamweight title. The win also earned Cartwright the fourth knockout victory of his professional career. On the ground or standing up, you best beware of this bull’s golden horns!
