Across the Pond Profile: Bellator MMA fighter Alejandra Lara

Bellator MMA has always needed a dash of international spice in order to separate themselves from the other fish in the sea under Scott Coker. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a blazing blue falcon looking to soar above the rest in the Bellator MMA flyweight division by making a resounding statement and cement herself as one of the division’s elite at Bellator 235 on December 20 as part of the promotion’s Hawaiian doubleheader. A professional since December 2011 and representing Lobo MMA, Alejandra Lara owns an 8-3 record in 11 professional bouts comprised of four knockouts, three submissions and one decision. Lara has gone on to earn a finish in seven of her eight victories in her career as a professional. Prior to making her promotional debut with Bellator MMA IN 2017, she competed with various MMA promotions in her home nation of Columbia.

In her MMA debut, she faced Monica Leon and went on to defeat her via TKO in the first round. Lara also defeated Maria Aguero via TKO in round one. Then at Striker Fighting Championship 9, she defeated Paola Calderon via unanimous decision. Lara defeated Calderon for the second time via armbar in the first round at Striker Fighting Championship 12. She also defeated her next two opponents in Janeth Alvarado and Liana Franco Rodriguez. In her debut appearance with Bellator MMA at Bellator 190, Lara submitted Ukraine’s Lena Ochynnikova in the third round via rear-naked choke to pick up her third submission victory as a professional.

At Bellator 225 she faced Taylor Turner and went on to defeat her via TKO in the first round. The victory also earned Lara the fourth knockout win of her professional career. For her next outing with Bellator MMA at Bellator 235 on December 20 live on Paramount Network. she will face Veta Artega in a women’s flyweight clash. Good luck Alejandra!
