Backgrounds and what gym or region you represent aren’t the only determining factors that stick out in the mind of the UFC when it comes to getting the stars of the future to ink their names on the bottom line and lay the first brick down on superstar road. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a skilful and sly finisher laying siege to the southwestern MMA scene with his mastery of MMA tactics and a hot mixture of submissions off his back and dynamite in his hands times two. A professional since February 2014 and representing Seige MMA, Kamuela Kirk owns an 8-3 record in 11 professional bouts comprised of five submissions and three knockouts. Kirk appeared on week five during the third season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2019 and has also competed with Legacy Fighting Alliance. All eight of his victories in his professional career thus far have ended in a finish.
In his MMA debut at Rage in the Cage 170, he submitted Jose Carbajal in the first round via triangle choke. Kirk also tapped out Cody Huard via triangle choke in round one at World Fighting Federation 13. He submitted Evan DeLong in the first round. Then at Baja Fighting Championship 1, Kirk faced Edgar Escarrega and went on to defeat him via TKO in round one. He defeated Jeff Fletcher via TKO in the first round at World Fighting Federation 25. Kirk also defeated Brandon Trujilo via TKO in round one at Iron Boy MMA 4.
In his debut appearance with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 44, he faced Borah Karmo and submitted him via rear-naked choke in the first round. For his second outing with the promotion at LFA 53, Kirk faced Kevin Croom and tapped him out in round one via triangle choke to earn the fifth submission victory of his professional career. With the heat seeming to radiate off this big island hurler you are in for a real burning!
