Across the Pond Profile: HR MMA fighter Lance Lawrence

In the first three seasons of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series on ESPN Plus and UFC Fight Pass with seasons one and two being on UFC Fight Pass and the third airing on ESPN Plus respectively, viewers have been witness to many prospects putting their respective states front and centre on the MMA map. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a blue-blooded wildcatter ready to freeze Kentucky over with an icy hailstorm of submissions. A professional since February 2016 and representing Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of Kentucky and Team Cruz Muay Thai, Lance Lawrence owns a 5-1 record in six professional bouts with all five of his victories as a professional coming via submission. Lawrence appeared on week four during the third instalment of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2019 that was also the first season of DWTNCS to air on ESPN Plus and has also fought for HR MMA in his home state of Kentucky. 80 per cent of Lawrence’s wins as a professional mixed martial artist have come inside the first round with only one of the five have made it round two. He has not yet gone to the judge’s scorecards in his pro career thus far.

In his MMA debut at HR MMA 77, he submitted Brian Kerr via rear-naked choke in the first round. Lawrence also tapped out Johnathan Peirce in round one at Valor Fights 35. Then at HR MMA 86, he submitted David Bernas in the first round via rear-naked choke. Lawrence also tapped out Marc McDonald in round one at HR MMA 92. At HR MMA 105 he faced Chris Dunn and submitted him via triangle choke in the second round. The victory also earned Lawrence the fourth submission win of his professional career. Stay clear of the ground or this tornado of the bluegrass will suck you up in a whirlwind of destructive force that cuts a wide swath!
