Across the Pond Profile: Invicta Fighting Championships fighter Itzel Esquivel

Legacy Fighting Alliance and Invicta Fighting Championships are one and the same in that they both have been known to prominently feature up and coming female talents during their respective time in the MMA spotlight. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a lone star fire pistol with a never-ending arsenal of bullets looking to light up the Invicta FC strawweight division at Invicta FC 41 on July 30. A professional mixed martial artist since February 2017 and representing Paradigm Training Center, Itzel Esquivel owns a 4-2 record in six bouts as a professional comprised of three submissions and one decision. Esquivel has fought for Fury FC and Legacy Fighting Alliance. She has gone on to earn a finish in 75 per cent of her victories as a pro-MMA fighter thus far and has only gone the full distance once in her career.

In her MMA debut at Fury Fighting Championship 15, she took on Fatima Mallett and submitted her via armbar in the second round. Esquivel also tapped out Brandi Narvaez in round one via triangle-armbar in her debut appearance with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 7. Then in her fourth promotional outing with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 43, she submitted Desiree Yanez in the first round via armbar to pick up her third submission win as a professional. At LFA 52 Esquivel defeated Vanessa Demopoulos via unanimous decision. The win earned Esquivel the first decision victory of her professional career along with her third win under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance.

At Invicta FC 41 on July 30 live on UFC Fight Pass, she will face the well rounded Cynthia Arceo in a battle at strawweight. Good luck Itzel! Other fighters that will be featured on Invicta FC 41 include Claire Guthrie, Katalin Young, and top flyweight prospect Erin Blanchfield in addition to knockout artist Latoya Walker and the undefeated Catlin Sammons.
