Jack Cartwright vs Gerardo Fanny set for CW115

Undefeated Bantamweight Champion Jack Cartwright (8-0) will make the second defence of his title against Gerardo Fanny (9-1).

The fifth title fight taking place across Cage Warriors’ ‘THE TRILOGY’ series has been confirmed. After a successful title defence earlier this year, Jack Cartwright will once again walk out in his home city of Manchester to but his belt on the line.

An incredible 2019 for Cartwright saw him enter the spotlight with double knockouts over Scott Malone and Marko Kovacevic, winning Cage Warriors’ Bantamweight Title Tournament. In one night, the Manchester native went from a relatively unknown name on the roster to a world champion and one of Europe’s most feared bantamweight knockout artists.

Most recently, Cartwright fought to a decisive decision win over Manuel Bilic in the first defence of his title at CW112.

Challenger Gerardo Fanny is one of the brightest young prospects in Dutch MMA, having embarked on an unbeaten 7-fight win streak until 2019. He enters CW115 off the back of an impressive TKO win last October.

Fanny was recently signed by management company Paradigm Sports, home to former Cage Warriors champions Conor McGregor and Jack Hermansson. By taking the title from Cartwright on September 25th, he hopes to catch the UFC’s attention and stake his claim as Europe’s hottest bantamweight name.

The proven punching power and aggressive style of both men are sure to draw viewers from across the continent to UFC Fight Pass on September 25th.

Previously, the Cage Warriors bantamweight title has been held by rising UFC prospects Jack Shore and Nathaniel Wood.

Cage Warriors 114, 115 and 116 will take place across three consecutive nights on the 24th, 25th and 26th September in ‘THE TRILOGY’, one of the company’s most ambitious projects to date. The events will take place behind-closed-doors at the BEC Arena in Manchester, broadcast to millions worldwide on UFC Fight Pass and a host of broadcast partners across the globe.

Five world title fights have now been announced across the series.

Adam Proctor vs Mason Jones – Welterweight Title Fight

Jack Cartwright vs Gerardo Fanny – Bantamweight Title Fight

Morgan Charriere vs Max Coga – Featherweight Title Fight

Nathias Frederick vs Jamie Richardson – Middleweight Title Fight
