It’s been a long time rumoured but Zuffa Boxing looks like it may finally be about to enter the fray.

Dana White first spoke about entering the boxing world three years ago and again was speaking about boxing as recently as last month at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. The only surprise is that it has taken White this long to make his move.

The Canadian paper, Le Journal de Montreal are reporting Zuffa Boxing kicks off with a female unification fight between the American, WBC and WBO champion Claressa Shields (10-0, 2 KOs) and IBF champion, Canadian Marie-Eve Dicaire (17-0, 0 KOs).

According to the papers sources the card will be all female and stream exclusively on UFC Fight Pass from Las Vegas for December 11th.

Both fighters had agreed to meet in May however the ongoing pandemic put paid to those plans, the boxers are still keen to meet in the square circle and have the opportunity to open up Zuffa’s entry into boxing.

Shields is a two time Olympic champion and considers herself the GWOAT, she has even spoke about facing UFC‘s own GWOAT Amanda Nunes in the past. A fight that might be more likely now that Shields has negotiated with Dana White for this upcoming fight.
