LFA has upped their global presence in the midst of a darkened world. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a leviathan of a bruising bull looking to grab the LFA featherweight division by the horns in his quest for global pride. A professional mixed martial artist since June 2016 and representing Kings MMA, Leandro Gomes owns a 6-1 record through seven professional bouts comprised of two knockouts, two submissions, and two decisions. Gomes competed on the regional scene in his home country of Brazil prior to his debut under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance in August 2019 at LFA 74 and has finished four out of his six victories in his career thus far as a pro-MMA fighter with four first-round finishes. He is currently 3-0 under the LFA banner. Gomes has gone to the scorecards twice during his time in the professional ranks, winning via decision across the board in both instances.
In his MMA debut, he tapped out Arthur Ceasar via armbar in the first round. Gomes defeated Felipe Alancar via TKO in round one. Then at Gladiator Challenge Summer Showdown, he knocked out Jorge Alcala in the first round. Gomes submitted Anthony Jimenez in the first round via kneebar in his promotional debut with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 74. At LFA 81, he defeated Yuma Horiuguchi via a split decision.
For outing number three under the LFA banner at LFA 85 as part of LFA’S 2020 relaunch, Gomes defeated submission specialist Jacob Thrall via unanimous decision. The win earned Gomes the second decision victory of his professional career. He also picked up his third victory in a row under the LFA banner in the process. Coming in at 6-1, Gomes is showing LFA that the size of a fighter’s heart is an advantage even when the odds are stacked against them!
