There have been several occurrences in Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series first four seasons where the third time is the charm. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a night hawk of the blue ridge looking to deliver Carolina thunder at UFC 262 on May 15. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2011 and representing The Hitpit Martial Arts, Jamie Pickett owns an 11-5 record through 16 professional contests comprised of eight knockouts, one submission, and two decisions. Pickett secured his contract from the UFC on week four during season four of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2020 and has finished nine out of his 11 victories over the course of his journey as a pro-MMA fighter thus far. He also appeared on week one during the third season of the show in 2019 and week one during the first season in 2017.
He defeated Brian McGinnis via TKO in the first round. Pickett also defeated his next three opponents that included wins over Savalas Williams and Jason Fann. Then at Next Level Fight Club 3, he defeated Marcus Finch via TKO in the third round. Pickett knocked out Doug Usher in the second round at Legacy FC 47. He defeated Rashawn Spencer via unanimous decision at Conflict MMA 42 Charlotte. At 864 Fighting Championship, Pickett defeated Crishian Torres via TKO in the first round. He defeated Elijah Gobille via TKO in round one at Next Level Fight Club 10. At NLFC 11 Pickett defeated Jacquis Williams via unanimous decision.
In the headliner of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series week four of season four, he defeated Jhonven Pati via TKO in the second round. The win earned Pickett the eighth knockout victory of his professional career along with a UFC contract. At UFC 262 on May 15, he will face Jordan Wright in a middleweight showdown. Good luck Jamie!
