Making a name for yourself on the international scene is never designed to be smooth sailing. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a Nordic Thunderbolt ready to send his silver axe down from the stormy sky at Superior Challenge 22 on May 29. A professional mixed martial artist since May 2012 and representing Frontline Academy, Hakon Foss owns a 9-8 record through 17 professional contests comprised of four knockouts, three submissions, and two decisions. Foss has fought for numerous promotions throughout the European MMA scene including Cage Warriors and has finished seven out of his nine victories during his time in the professional ranks with six first-round finishes under his belt in those seven finishes. He has gone to the scorecards twice during his career as a pro-MMA fighter thus far, winning via decision both times. The majority of his wins during his time in the pro ranks have come within three rounds.
In his MMA debut at Vision FC Fight Night 1, he faced Nisse Paholm and submitted him via armbar in the first round. Foss defeated Charlie Leary via unanimous decision at Ultimate Warrior Challenge 22. Then in his promotional debut with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 66, he tapped out Per Franklin in the first round via triangle choke. Foss defeated his next three opponents that included wins over Zebazastian Kadestam and Graham Armstrong. He knocked out Jhony Kruschinske in round one at Imperium Fighting Championship 5. At Cage Warriors 81, Foss submitted Martyn Harris via rear-naked choke in the first round. He defeated Jack Mason via TKO in round one at Cage Warriors 93. The victory earned Foss the fourth knockout win of his professional career.
At Superior Challenge 22 on May 29, he will face Tom Crosby in a welterweight title tussle. Good luck Hakon!
