Across The Pond Profile: UFC fighter Leomana Martinez

On Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, it is all about proven finishers. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a lone star alpha dog looking to make an explosive impression as he enters the UFC waters at UFC On ESPN 29 on August 21. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2016 and representing Metro Fight Club, Leomana Martinez owns an 8-2 record through 10 professional bouts, with all eight of his victories as a pro-MMA fighter coming via knockout. Martinez appeared on week six during the fourth season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2020. He has also fought for Fury Fighting Championship and Legacy Fighting Alliance. The majority of his wins during his time in the professional MMA ranks have come within two rounds. Martinez has yet to reach the scorecards at any point during his career as a professional mixed martial artist thus far.

In his professional MMA debut at Legacy FC 59, he faced Clarence Brown and went on to defeat him via TKO in the second round. Martinez also defeated Eric Hendon via TKO in round two at LFA 26. He knocked out Casey Jones in the first round at LFA 35. Then at Fury Fighting Championship 24, Martinez defeated Jarett Walden via TKO in round one. At Fury Fighting Championship 27, he defeated Ricky Turcios via TKO in the first round. Martinez defeated David Rivera via TKO in round two at Fury Fighting Championship 39. He defeated Jones for the second time at Fury Fighting Championship 44. In the co-main event of Fury Fighting Championship 46, Martinez defeated Jose Johnson via TKO in the first round. The victory earned Martinez the eighth knockout win of his professional career.

For his debut outing with the UFC at UFC On ESPN 29 on August 21, he will face off against Trevin Jones in a battle at bantamweight. Good luck Leomana!
