Across The Pond Profile: Legacy Fighting Alliance fighter AJ Cunningham

Even if you happen to be the best prospect in your state, there are bound to be hurdles before you reach the top of the mountain. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a gravedigger of the Ozarks looking to churn up the earth at LFA 114 on August 27 as the promotion heads to the city of the Gateway Arch live on UFC Fight Pass from The Factory in St Louis, Missouri A professional mixed martial artist since August 2018 and representing Without Limits MMA under head coach Matt Sellers, AJ Cunningham holds a 7-2 record through nine professional bouts comprised of three submissions, three knockouts, and one decision. Cunningham fought for Pyramid Fights, a regional MMA promotion based in his home state of Arkansas before debuting with Legacy Fighting Alliance in March 2021 at LFA 102. He has finished six out of his seven wins during his career as a pro-MMA fighter so far. Cunningham has only gone to the scorecards a single time during his time in the professional MMA ranks, sweeping the scorecards across the board in that instance.

In his MMA debut at Pyramid Fights 8, he submitted Jessie Hancock via triangle choke in the second round. Cunningham also defeated his next two opponents in Kevin Henry and Jose Zuniga Herrera. Then at Pyramid Fights 12, he tapped out Johnnie Roades in round one via rear-naked choke. Cunningham knocked out Aaron Ulroan in the first round.  He defeated Jewel Scott via unanimous decision at IFF 1 to earn his first and only decision win as a professional. Cunningham knocked out Charles Bridges in round two at Pyramid Fights 16. The victory earned Cunningham the third knockout win of his professional career.

In his second appearance with Legacy Fighting Alliance on August 27 at LFA 114, he will face Fred Freeman in a catchweight affair at 150 pounds. Good luck AJ!
