This Saturday at the UFC Apex center two of MMA’s top middleweights headline the card as #7 Darren Till takes on #5 Derek Brunson. In the co-main event, two rising heavyweight contenders will square off as Tom Espinal meets Sergey Spivak. Let us not forget the debut of fan-favorite Paddy Pimblett.
While the main event is not a title eliminator by any means, it would provide a clearer picture for the future contender of the division. Derek Brunson is currently riding a 4 fight win streak and is looking to establish himself as the next suitor to the title fight. As for the Liverpool native, he is looking to get back into the winning column as he dropped his last fight against former champion Robert Whittaker in July of 2020, as a middleweight Till is 1-1 (beating Kelvin Gastellum).
Tom Aspinall is looking to continue his winning ways as he is riding a 6 fight win streak that includes a submission win over legendary and former heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski. Many view Tom as the future of the division. Sergey is also riding a 3 fight win streak which saw him defeat Aleksei Oleinik this past June. As a UFC fighter, Sergey 4-2 and has faced top competition like Walt Harris and Tai Tuivasa.
It’s been a while since a newcomer has had the amount of hype and fan support that Paddy Pimblett is currently receiving. The former Cage Warriors champ is making his anticipated debut vs Luigi Vendramini. The English fighter is looking to make waves and assert himself as one of the most exciting fighters that have been signed to the lightweight division.
