Across The Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter Ben Rees

After an extended layoff, going back to a fighter’s home base to shake off the rust can relight the soul in more ways than one. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a lion of the bright blue sea ready to make the waves crash in his return to Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 131 on December 10. A professional mixed martial artist since June 2013 and representing Lion’s Den MMA under head coach Dave Matthews, Ben Rees owns a 3-4 record through seven professional bouts comprised of two submissions and one knockout. Rees has fought for numerous promotions over the course of his career as a pro-MMA fighter including BAMMA and Cage Warriors. He has finished all three of his wins during his time in the professional ranks so far, with three first-round victories under his belt. He has yet to go to the scorecards at any point during his tenure as a professional mixed martial artist thus far. All three of his finishes during his pro career have come within the opening round, in the space of fewer than five minutes. Rees is currently 1-1 under the banner of Cage Warriors, with one finish under his belt for the promotion.

In his professional MMA debut and promotional debut with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 55, he faced Gavin Kelly and went on to submit him via armbar in the first round. Rees also tapped out Rory Evans in round one via armbar at Adrenalin Fight Nights Uprising. Then at Raged UK MMA 10, he defeated Paul Reed via TKO in the first round. The victory earned Rees the first knockout win of his professional career. He also picked up his third first-round finish in the process.

At Cage Warriors 131 on December 10, he will take on PK Zadah in an encounter at featherweight. Good luck Ben!
