Darren Stewart’s eagerly anticipated return to Cage Warriors will take place at CW 134 on 18th March at the Indigo at the O2, where “The Dentist” will take on Johan Romming in a middleweight bout.

Stewart returns to Cage Warriors following a 14 fight run in the UFC, taking on notable names such as Karl Roberson, Edmem Shahbazyan, and Kevin Holland.

Romming will also return to Cage Warriors for this bout, having previously fought at CW 82 in 2017 when he beat Leeroy Barnes by knockout.

On this middleweight addition to CW 134, Cage Warriors president, Graham Boylan, said: “It’s great to have both these gentlemen fighting under the Cage Warriors banner again.

“Darren needs no introduction to the Cage Warriors fans, they’ve seen what he can do in that cage and will be giving him a lot of support.

“Romming is a dangerous opponent and it will be interesting to see if he can implement the strong grappling skills he has in this bout.”

In his initial run with Cage Warriors, Stewart racked up four knockout wins in four fights before receiving a UFC call up.

Following UFC London’s postponement in 2020 due to Covid-19, Stewart would make a one-fight return at CW 113 and will be looking to return to the win column on 18th March.

When asked about his upcoming fight at CW 134, the London based middleweight told Cage Warriors: “I’m looking forward to competing back in Cage Warriors and putting the yellow gloves back on again.

“It feels really good to be fighting back at home.

“My family and friends can come and support me instead of having to travel the world to watch me or stop up until three in the morning.”

Romming meanwhile returns to Cage Warriors having shown his finishing ability in his 18 fights.

The Frenchman holds five submission wins and has shown he is dangerous with his striking too, with two knockout wins.

Ahead of his first fight since 2019, Romming told Cage Warriors: “I’ve finally come back to one of the best promotions in Europe after two years of difficulty with trying to find a fight and many fight cancellations.

“I’m excited to show how I’ve progressed.

“I have a new technical dimension and vision of fighting that I can’t wait to show to Cage Warriors and to my opponent.”
