Across The Pond Profile: Legacy Fighting Alliance fighter Austin Wourms

In order to receive a fair assessment to determine if they are indeed the real deal and good as advertised, prospects on the come-up need multiple turns at the wheel to gauge just how successful they will be.  In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a determined dealer in the power of pain whose hot hand has shattered the illusion of perfection as LFA’S newest bolt of thunder at lightweight. A professional mixed martial artist since May 2018 and representing Baker’s MMA and Bluestar Grappling, Austin Wourms holds a 5-3 record through eight professional bouts, with all five of his victories as a pro-MMA fighter coming via submission. Wourms competed on the regional scene in Arizona prior to debuting with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 119 in December 2021. He is currently 2-0 under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance, with two finishes under his belt for the promotion. 100 percent of his wins during his time in the professional ranks have come within the opening round. Wourms has yet to reach the scorecards at any point during his pro career.

In his MMA debut at Iron Boy MMA 11, he faced John Long and went on to tap him out via armbar in the first round. Wourms also submitted Andrew Lazo in round one via kimura at KOTC Reaction Time. He tapped out Anthony Pike via armbar in the first round at RUFF MMA 44. Then in his promotional debut with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 119, Wourms submitted Chris Renteria in round one via armbar.

In his second outing with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 124. he tapped out Jacobi Jones via armbar in the first round. The victory earned Wourms the fifth submission win of his professional career. He also picked up back-to back victories under the LFA banner in the process. With a 100 percent finish rate, Wourms is one ground artist that knows how to inflict maximum punishment!
