Many promotions are back in the black after weathering the challenging waters of the pandemic. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a bulldog of double danger ready to rip and roar at Cage Warriors 140 on June 25 from the SSE Arena in Belfast on UFC Fight Pass in what is sure to be a night of shining glory for Irish MMA.
A professional mixed martial artist since September 2016 and representing Next Generation Northern Ireland under head coach Rodney Moore, Glenn Irvine holds a 3-3 record through six professional bouts comprised of two knockouts and one submission. Irvine has fought for several promotions over the course of his career as a pro-MMA fighter including Caged Steel and BAMMA.
He has finished 100 percent of his victories during his time in the professional ranks. Irvine has yet to reach the scorecards at any point during his time as a professional mixed martial artist. All three of Irvine’s finishes during his pro career have come inside the distance, with three first-round finishes under his belt in the span of five minutes or fewer. 100 percent of Irvine’s finishes during his career have come within the opening round.
At Caged Steel 17, he faced Rob Fulton and went on to knock him out in the first round. Irvine submitted Marcin Prostko in round one at Caged Steel 18 to earn his lone submission win as a professional so far. Then at Caged Steel 20, he defeated Matt Pepper via TKO in the first round. The victory earned Irvine the second knockout win of his professional career along with his third first-round finish overall.
In his promotional debut with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 140 on June 25, he will face Michael Tchamou in a middleweight contest. Good luck Glenn!
