Ryan Shelly – “Expect a high paced fight.”

Ryan Shelley 4-0-0 is an Irish Professional Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Bantamweight division, representing Team KF Martial Arts. He has competed for Clan Wars and Cage Warriors over his professional career.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to speak to me today Ryan, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming inclusion to the CW140 Belfast card.

I hope training has been going well in the build-up to your highly anticipated return to the CW cage?

“Training is going very well for this fight, I didn’t take much time out from the last fight so I just kept the ball rolling.”

Last we saw you in action was back in April, adding another notch to your professional outings via TKO over Magdi Gereev at CW135.

No sooner has the proverbial dust settled, fight fans will yet again bear witness to your explosive arsenal in Belfast.

Is it your intention to compete as often as possible during the 2022 calendar?

“The plan is to always remain active. Focus on each fight as it comes and provided I have no injuries, I’ll be keeping very active.”

It must be an amazing feeling to not only be back out there but to also be taking the walk on home soil in Belfast?

“With Dublin being my hometown. Belfast is a short journey up North but I fought there plenty of times as an amateur so I enjoy fighting up there.”

With just over a month away, you are set to take centre stage on what’s been tipped to be one of the most explosive cards Cage Warriors have brought to fight fans. Taking on Matthew Elliott, an undefeated competitor such as yourself.

Hats off to Ian Dean, this one has fireworks written all over it. What do you make of Matthew in the build-up to your scheduled meeting?

“Matthew is a good opponent. I’m only interested in competing against the best on Cage Warriors and it will be a good test for me.”

With June 25th fast approaching and final preparations are put in place for your encounter with Matthew, could you give the readers a brief glimpse at what to expect for a night of pure unadulterated organised violence at the SSE Arena?

“Expect a high paced fight. There’ll be plenty of eyes on this fight so looking to put on a show.”

Many astronomical bouts are set to shake Ireland to its very foundations at CW140, other than your inclusion on the night, are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?

“The whole card is stacked with great fights from top to bottom. It’s a great time to be a fan of Irish MMA.”

I wish you all the best for June Ryan and I look forward to witnessing you out there.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“We’ve got a decent gang from Dublin heading up, so for anyone in the SSE arena, sit back and enjoy the fights.”
