Connor ‘The Paradox’ Patterson 4-0-0 is an English amateur Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Featherweight division, representing Great Britain Top Team He has competed for Shock N Awe, CWSE, ECMMA and is due to make his debut for Fightstar Championship on July 15th.

I’d like to start this off by thanking you for taking the time to speak to me today Connor, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming inclusion to the Fightstar Championship 22 card.

I hope training camp has been going well in the build-up to your highly anticipated return to the cage?

“As far as the training has been in preparation, I feel like I’ve been so active recently (this will be the 4th fight in 4 months) I am very well prepared for my next fight on FSC.”

On my many visits to Great Britain Top Team, I’ve had the privilege to witness the phenomenal work you guys put in on a daily basis. Each and every aspect of the fight game is nurtured and improved by some of the UK’s, if not the world’s leading coaches. What does it mean to you to be part of the well-oiled machine that is GBTT?

“GBTT as a whole has been an invaluable experience and resource to me as an athlete, and also as a person outside of the sport. I’ve learnt and grown so much from being around as you said, some of the world’s premier minds within the sport.”

Previously set to take on Dan McKeever at Fightstar Championship 20 back at the tail end of 2021, fans will be happy to once again catch you in action. For the fans who were looking forward to your inclusion, could you elaborate on what was the cause of unfortunately having to withdraw from the contest?

“As you mentioned, I was scheduled to fight Dan back in December last year. Unfortunately, I tore my MCL (a ligament in the inside portion of the knee) a matter of weeks out from the bout, which was a huge shame.”

Fully fit and ready to roll once again, you are set to take the walk to the Fightstar cage. A place many of your teammates have thrived in the past. When receiving the call, how did it feel knowing you’ll be sharing the card with your team, as well as taking the next step on your amateur journey with such a well-known platform on the UK MMA scene?

“Fightstar has quickly stood out as one of the leading shows, for the level of talent it’s sent on to bigger promotions in the world of MMA. I was very grateful that I was offered a place on the card to illustrate my skills.”

The night is almost upon us, many well-rounded professionals and gifted amateurs such as yourself will take centre stage on one of the most highly anticipated cards Raj Singh and his team have brought to the capital to date.

Your prolific arsenal is set to be tested when taking on Team Renegade’s Stephon Earle. What do you make of Stephon in the build-up to your scheduled meeting?

“Stephon has my full attention ahead of our up-and-coming fight. From what I can tell, he’s a good opponent to test myself against, however, I’m confident in the skill set I possess.”

As previously stated, Raj Singh and his team have outdone themselves for this card. Working hammer and tongs to make sure fight fans have a night of pure unadulterated organised violence they will not soon forget. Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?

“Other fights to watch out for would be my fellow GBTT team members, Callum, Vad, Bane and Sam. You can expect a clinical performance from all of them!”

I wish you all the best for the 15th Connor and I look forward to witnessing you out there.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“I’d like to shout-out all my teammates, mates & coaching staff down at GBTT. Specifically Ash & Brad for all the work they do with us as a team. I’d also like to take the time to shout-out to all the people who have taken the time to attend FSC on July 15th. I appreciate you all.”

You’ll not want to miss the Fightstar Championship action on July 15th, it is set to be one of the most explosive cards Fightstar have brought together to date. Make sure to grab a ticket, you’ll not be disappointed.
