I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to speak with me again today Jimmy, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming opportunity for the Interim Welterweight Championship at CW 146.

“Thank you. I appreciate that, I’m looking forward to it.”

You’re welcome mate.

Your return to action back July sent signals to the top of the division, it was only a matter of time before we saw you competing at championship level.

Did you think it would be soon after your victory at CW 141 over Daniel Skibiński?

“Erm, I dunno really. I was really happy with my performance, I rate Skibiński a lot, like you said, I made a statement. I let everyone know that I’m back and I’m not here to mess about, maybe I didn’t think it would be straight away but I’m happy it is. I’m really looking forward to it, it’s a great opportunity, a great fight and I’m looking forward to putting on a great show for sure.”

I was there at the 02 when you fought Skibiński, it was absolutely explosive, a great comeback.

“Yeah man, it was a good night, the crowd went nuts, it was great.”

With fight night fast approaching and your return to the CW cage having a golden opportunity, have you had a different approach to your training regime at London Shootfighters?

“Not particularly, it’s been a tough camp as I’ve got a few things going on, a couple of niggles as I’m an old man now haha. As well as sorting out my new business and a few other things. As far as training at Shoot, just been focusing on me. I know what he does well, I know what I do well, just been preparing for wherever it goes in all areas. I’m confident it will be a full MMA fight so I’ve been getting a few things together, getting my fitness on point, I’m feeling in good shape. I’ve been putting the work in, I’m looking forward to putting myself to the test once again.”

Personally seeing you in action in the cage, you really don’t show your age mate.

“Hahaha, thank you man.”

Your interim title opportunity has beckoned the return of a Cage Warrior. You are set to take on the returning Mateusz Figlak at what’s set to be a stacked return to the BEC Arena in Manchester.

What do you make of Mateusz as you prepare to collide in the cage on November 12th?

“I rate him, he’s very good, a worthy opponent for sure. He’s a very confident young man, but I don’t think he’s been out there with anyone of my experience and my style. I think I’m gonna give him a tough test, as he thinks he can rule me, he’s got a lot going for him, he’s a good fighter and his confidence is high. Like I said before I think it’s a great fight, it should be a goodun man, it should be fun.”

Your return saw you take on quite a big name, when I saw the announcement I was in awe, another big fight for you. The return of Mat Figlak as well, it’s gonna be an absolute barn burner for sure.

“Yeah man.”

As previously stated, CW’s return to Manchester is set to be one of the biggest card’s to date. Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?

“As I’ll be backstage preparing, I won’t catch many. I’ll probably watch some of the early prelims, my mate Marcus Mee is making his Cage Warriors debut, I’ll look forward to that and I’ll get to watch that backstage. After that I’ll solely be thinking about myself. It’s a stacked card, with some great fights on there but to be totally honest, I’ll be busy worrying about myself to worry about other people. After I’ll definitely watch the card back, like you said it’s a great card and a big night for Cage Warriors. It’s a privilege to be part of it at this stage of my career, I’m on my way out as such, I live these big nights. It’s always a joy and a buzz you know, it’s a special moment and I’m looking forward to it man.”

I was glad to see you return back in July, I hope I get to see you make many more big nights.

“Yeah, I’ve got a bit more in me for sure hahaha.”

It’s been great speaking with you again Sam Jimmy, and I wish you all the best for November mate.

“Thank you dude, I appreciate that a lot.”

Anytime mate.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“There’s too many to thank, we’ll be here all day haha. Thanks to all my sponsors, their links can be found on all my socials. I appreciate all the support of my team and my teammates, my business partners etc. As for the fans, well, the place got sold out before my fight was announced so I dunno how many are gonna be there for me hahah, but guys, I hope you enjoy the show. Even if you’re not my personal fans but are gonna be there on the night, I’m gonna give it my all for you. I hope you’re entertained, I hope you have a great night and shout the roof off. Make plenty of noise, drive us on and push us to give you the performance you deserve. To all my fans that will be travelling up, the support means a lot it really does. You give up your time to support me on these nights and It’s just great man, I appreciate it. These last few dances, I’m getting even more sentimental and appreciative. You know what I mean, let’s have it, let’s go!!”
