The Cage Warriors Unplugged shows have a unique place of their own design in terms of the overall picture of the promotion. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a towering lineman of lightning ready to deliver an all-out blitzing on the light heavyweight division at Cage Warriors 147 on November 20. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2019 and representing Team Renegade, Matt Byfield owns a 4-1-1 record in five bouts comprised of three knockouts, one submission, and a no-contest. He has finished all four of his victories during his time in the professional ranks. Byfield fought for various promotions including Caged Steel prior to debuting with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 135 in April 2022. Byfield is 1-0 with Cage Warriors, with one finish for the promotion with a time of one minute and eight seconds. He has yet to reach the scorecards at any stage during his career as a pro-MMA fighter. 100 percent of his finishes have come within the opening round.
In his MMA debut at MTK MMA, he faced Jake Watkins and went on to defeat him via TKO in round one. Byfield defeated Matthew Findlay via TKO in the first round at Probellum London. Then at Caged Steel 26, he submitted Lewis Tams in round one via arm-triangle choke to earn his first submission win as a professional. In his second appearance with Cage Warriors on the preliminary card of Cage Warriors 142, he defeated Szymon Szynkiewicz via TKO in the first round. The win earned Byfield the third knockout victory of his professional career. He also picked up his first victory with Cage Warriors in the process.
At Cage Warriors 147 on November 20, he will take on Spain’s Daniel Ladero in a light heavyweight contest. Good luck Matt!
