Shirzad Qadrian – “I know it will be a good fight”

2022 has been an amazing year for the UK fight fans, as we approach the end of the calendar year, Vida Fighting Championship sets to end it with a bang with 2 huge events.

It all kicks off with Vida Fighting Championship: Road to Venator on December 10th. One bout stands out on this night of pure unadulterated organised violence when Manchester Top Team’s Louis Lee Scott takes on Diesel & 10th Planet’s Shirzad Qadrian for the Bantamweight gold.

Shirzad has already captured Bantamweight gold earlier on in the year at Contenders 33, and is hungry to add another strap to the collection before the year is through.

I took a trip down to Diesel & 10th Planet to speak with one half of this absolute barn burner Shirzad Qadrian.

Shirzad Qadrian 2-0-0 is an Iranian professional Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Bantamweight division, representing Diesel Gym & 10th Planet London. He has competed for Contenders where he is the current Bantamweight champion and is set to make his Vida Fighting Championship debut on December 10th.

I’d like to kick things off by thanking you for inviting me to Diesel to speak with you again today Shirzad, and also to congratulate you on your Bantamweight title opportunity at Vida Fighting Championship: Road to Venator.

“Thank you so much for coming here and for this interview brother.”

You’re very welcome, always a pleasure speaking with you man.

I trust training has been going well in the build-up to your second title opportunity this year?

“It’s been very very good brother, I’ve been training hard, I’m ready to kill this guy.”

I’m glad it’s all been going well for you man.

When receiving the call to potentially cap off the year with another strap around your waste, was it an opportunity you just couldn’t refuse?

“It was a great feeling when hearing the news, everytime I go out there I want a good fight, I do like fighting bullshit guys. This guy is undefeated, so I know it will be a good fight, I can feel my second belt coming my way.”

Great confidence as always man.

You will be joined in the cage by Manchester Top Team’s Louis Lee Scott, both of you undefeated on your professional journeys thus far, your collision is definitely not one to be missed.

As you prepare for the violence that will hit the BEC Arena on December 10th, what do you make of Louis in the build-up to your highly anticipated meeting?

“I have huge respect for Manchester Top Team. I think Louie is a good athlete, He’s undefeated, he’s a good striker. But I don’t think it’s a good idea to fight the lion bro, I have a good suplex for him.

It’s gonna be great to see each of your unique skill sets collide definitely.

Carl Prince has worked day and night to piece together the return of Vida Fighting Championship, and has enlisted many exceptional warriors to film the card.

Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?

I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates out there. I see my brothers training everyday, training hard. It’s gonna be a very good night, because my brothers are coming to smash everyone just like me.”

It must be a great feeling to head out to war with your team.

“Definitely brother.”

Only Taking your first step on your professional career back in April, you have made your intentions known that you are a force to be reckoned with in the division. December 10th will mark your 3rd outing on your professional journey, and will know doubt leave fight fans wanting more.

What have you taken from nearly your 1st year as a professional athlete?

“It’s been a great feeling, I fought through the year in good fights. I fought great fighters like Stefano Catacoli, I plan to make it 3 out of 3 to end a very good year. It’s been an experience to learn from, Diesel & 10th Planet is my home and have taught me a lot. And each fight has taught me a good experience.”

That’s good to hear mate, I’ve witnessed you out there so far this year, I look forward to your 2nd year on the professional circuit.

On that note, have you made any plans going into the 2023 MMA calendar?

“It’s gonna be the same plan for next year, I wanna kill everyone bro.”

I really think the nickname I gave you before Diesel’s Chimaev, suits you down to a tee with that statement haha.

“Hahahahaha.”

It’s been great speaking with you once again Shirzad, and I wish you all the best for December.

“Thank you so much for coming to see me again, I’m so happy you came here to see me again brother.

Anytime mate, I look forward to my next visit.

Last but not least, do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“I’d like to Thank Diesel Gym & 10th Planet London and Excel strength, This is my home, all of my brothers have helped me, thank you to my Jiu-jitsu team, Muay-Thai team and MMA team. Shout-out to my sponsor Sasco and Richard he is very good man, it’s great for Strength and conditioning.”
