PFL returns on November 25th for what’s set to be a sold out Madison Square Gardens for PFL 10: 2022 Championships.
An action packed card is set to take place as we approach the tail end of an exceptional year for the Professional Fighters League, with a vast array of talent set to take centre stage in the world’s most famous arena.
Today we shall be focusing on a collision that will have fans in attendance in high anticipation for when Julia Budd takes on PFL newcomer Aspen Ladd.
Julia ‘The Jewel’ Budd (16-4-0) is a Canadian professional Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Featherweight division, representing Gibson MMA. She has competed for Strikeforce Challengers, Invicta FC, Bellator MMA and PFL.
Aspen Ladd (9-3-0) is an American professional Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Featherweight division, representing MMA Gold Fight Team. She has competed for West Coast Fighting Championship, Invicta FC, UFC and is set to make her PFL debut on November 25th.
PFL held a media conference with both participants on Tuesday afternoon, I was lucky enough to be in attendance to grab some questions with Julia and Aspen as they set to collide in New York.
Aaron East MMA UK News: what does it mean to you to not only be making your debut with PFL, but also to be making it in such an explosive entrance in this barn of a collision with Julia?
Aspen Ladd: The feeling is incredible, obviously they spoke about the opponent before the fight. I knew exactly who she was and that’s extremely high level, I’ve been watching her since I was teenager. I was like, I’m fighting at 145 lbs and I’ll be fighting one of the best 145’s, sweet. And then I was like, they only have one more card this year, so you’re telling me I’ll be fighting her at Madison Square Garden, it couldn’t have been better.
Aaron East MMA UK News: when getting the call to welcome Aspen to the PFL cage on November 25th, was this an exciting notion for you?
Julia Budd: oh yeah haha, very. The Madison Square Garden card, the final show of the year, against Aspen. You couldn’t wipe the smile off my face for this whole camp.
